Use Clothing as Packing Material
Stop buying bubble wrap for every fragile item. T-shirts, socks, towels, and sweaters are excellent padding for dishes, glasses, and small appliances. Wrap wine glasses in socks. Nest bowls inside sweaters. This protects your items AND reduces the number of boxes you need.
Pack Plates Vertically Like Records
Plates packed flat are surprisingly easy to crack. Pack plates standing on their edge, like vinyl records, with padding between each one. They’re actually more stable in transit this way and far less likely to break.
Keep Drawers Intact When Possible
